9,526 Graduate from university of Rwanda : The 11th graduation

On this Friday, October 17, 2025,  The University of Rwanda maintained its 11th Graduation ceremony At Huye  campus stadium as the venue, located in  Huye District, southern province. The event celebrated by over 9,526 graduates who obtained degrees  categorising from Diploma to PhDs certificate, and whole graduates are from Different seven(7) colleges and nine(9) Campuses.

This total of 9,526 graduates are celebrating their academic achievements today composed by 4,204 females and 5,322 males in relation to their colleges, means:

1. College of business and Economics: 2,005
2. college of science and Technology: 1,688
3. colleges of Education: 2,554
4. college of Arts and social sciences: 1,006
5. college of Medicine and Health sciences: 1,136
6. college of Agriculture, Animal sciences and veterinary medicine: 981

why Huye campus as site?

 UR organises one major graduation each year, hosted in rotation across its campuses. the last year's event took place at Huye and  today 2025 event also take place there, the decision Driven buy reasoning and high logical efficiency and the huge number of graduate.

According to Prof.Kayihura Muganga Didas, vice chancellor of university of Rwanda shares the reason behind this, He explained "The choice to return back to Huye Campus as repeatedly branches from its capacity to accommodate large crowds and its Historical Dominant significance as the university's Oldest and most iconic campus."

 what's about a  Gala Dinner ceremony?

The Gala Dinner, held on the preceding day  referring to the end of day before an event(as the main graduation ceremony), this happened yet on 16 october 2025, was a tribute to 35 PhDs graduates who completed their doctoral studies across different Disciplines. 

These scholars sharing their operational research focused on solving national, regional and global challenges, ghis represent the university's commitment to advancing innovation, technological, research and local and international academic leadership. 

Several PhD holders shared their journeys During the dinner. one of them is Dr.jean Bosco, "This milestone is not just mine, its belongs to my family, my mentors, and the community that supported me. I'm proud to contribute to Rwanda's growing research landscape." He reflected.

35 PhDs graduates who completed their doctoral studies across different Disciplines. 

"Today is not just another graduation, it is a celebration of intellectual excellence and perseverance... you are no longer students! you are now creators of knowledge."-Vice Chancellor: Professor Kayihura Muganga Didas.

It was a graceful evening ushered in by a thrilling from talented Indangamuco cultural Band of UR Huye campus with vibrant tone for the celebration, as you hear it was unforgettable moment to PhDs owner of 2025.

the graduands took the oath to serve after being proudly crowned finishers of the academic race. what called a moment of pride,joy and earned achievement, nailed today at colorful graduation ceremony, this notify that nothing short of remarkable. it was a massive crowd that full filled every space and second. this was a true post-ceremonial show of presence and pride. and real we were all ready for them.
