| Elon Musk confirms a Tesla drive-in diner is coming to Starbase, Texas. |
Starbase, Texas – July 21, 2025
In true Elon Musk fashion, a single-word tweet has sparked excitement among Tesla and space enthusiasts alike. Over the weekend, Musk confirmed that a Tesla-themed retro diner is officially in the works near SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas.
The announcement came after a fan suggested the idea of building a classic drive-in diner near the spaceport. Musk responded simply with: “Ok,” a brief but powerful confirmation that has become his signature way of revealing major plans.
While details are still scarce, the diner is expected to follow the retro, 1950s-style design that Tesla has previously teased for other locations
complete with roller-skating servers and integrated Supercharger stations. The goal is to create a unique space where visitors can enjoy food, charge their cars, and possibly catch glimpses of rocket launches.
Starbase, located in Boca Chica, has become the center of SpaceX’s ambitious Mars-focused operations. Adding a Tesla diner to the site could turn the remote area into a growing tourist destination, combining space exploration with the automaker’s futuristic yet nostalgic lifestyle brand.
This isn’t the first time Musk has proposed unusual concepts. In 2021, he revealed plans for a Tesla restaurant in Los Angeles, which has been under development. Now, with Starbase’s diner in the works, Musk continues to blend innovation with entertainment, one tweet at a time.
