BREAKING: DJ Toxxyk Arrested Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Police Officer

 KIGALI, The Rwandan entertainment industry is in shock today following confirmation that one of its leading figures, DJ Toxxyk [ born Arnaud Shema], has been arrested in connection with a fatal traffic accident.

According to a report released by the Rwanda National Police[RNP] today, December 21th2025, the popular DJ is in custody after allegedly hitting and killing a police on duty.

The incident Details

The tragic event occurred in the early hours of saturday,December 20,2025. reports indicate that DJ TOXXYK was driving down PAYAGE Road from Kiyovu when he lost control of his vehicle.

Police statements reveal that the vehicle struck a police officer who was stationed across the road, dragging the victim for approximately 30 meters. 

Tragically, the officer did not survive the impact.

Attempt to Flee

 In a developing twist to the story, RNP spokesperson ACP Boniface Rutikanga confirmed that the DJ toxxyk initially fled the scene of accident. A manhunt ensued, and he was eventually apprehended in KARONGI District, hours away from the scene in Kigali.

THE CURRENT STATUS

As of this morning, DJ TOXXYK is being held at the REMERA POLICE STATION.

ACP Rutikanga stated " Preliminary investigations indicate he had been drinking alcohol before the accident." Police also noted that the crash may have happened as the driver attempted to swerve around construction traffic barriers at high speed.
